Cynar is a bitter Italian aperitif, created in 1952 and acquired by the Campari group in 1995, which gave it a new boost in its distribution. Its distinct flavor is obtained from a blend of artichoke leaves, combined with a secret recipe of 13 carefully selected herbs and plants, infused in alcohol.
To make Cynar, the 13 herbs and plants are meticulously cold-infused in alcohol. Then, this preparation is mixed with water, sugar, caramel, and alcohol, and then filtered to obtain the final liqueur.
Cynar can be enjoyed in different ways, but one of the most appreciated is the Cynar Bière cocktail. To prepare it, pour 4cl of Cynar into a glass and top it up with a blonde beer, such as Fisher blonde beer. Other popular cocktails include Cynar on the rocks, Cynar soda, and Cynar tonic, offering a variety of tastings for fans of this refined aperitif.
