The Meukow brand traces its origins back to the heart of the 19th century, a time when the history and reputation of cognac were beginning to take shape. In 1850, two brothers, Auguste-Christophe and Gustav Meukow, hailing from Silesia, were commissioned by Tsar Alexander II to supply the Russian Court with Cognac eaux-de-vie. After several journeys in France, the brothers decided to establish a commercial office in the heart of the city of Cognac, thus giving birth to the house A.C. Meukow & Co.
These historic offices, witnesses of the brand's prestigious past, are still used today by the Compagnie de Guyenne, owner of Meukow Cognac.
