This single malt whisky, originating from the Isle of Islay and renowned for its peaty and maritime profile, is part of the prestigious Classic Malts range. Displaying a golden color with amber highlights, its bouquet releases generous aromas of smoked malt and animal elements, with a subtle presence of velvety peat (perhaps from the vanilla of the cask?). On the palate, the peat is dominant, gradually giving way to maritime notes (such as smoked fish and iodine), enhanced by touches of licorice. The finish, imbued with smoke, is also marked by delicate woody nuances. Awarded the Gold Medal at the 2013 International Wine and Spirits Competition, with a score of 94/100, and distinguished at the 2013 Ultimate Spirits Challenge, this whisky was voted Best Peated Single Malt from the Isle of Islay at the 2008 World Whiskies Awards.
